We’re always interested in finding out from our customers how we can make their lives easier. A number of key themes were constantly repeated from the people who are responsible for managing access to FT content on behalf of their organisation.
We listened, and created Enterprise Tools - a new, easy-to-use FT platform for administrators of your organisation's subscription. Available as part of an FT Group Subscription, Enterprise Tools can be used by anyone who has permission to be a licence administrator. Continue reading to learn more about:
- The main features of Enterprise Tools and the benefits, as told by existing users
- How you can start using Enterprise Tools within your organisation
What are the main features and benefits of Enterprise Tools?
Enterprise Tools allows licence administrators to better manage their organisation’s subscription, offer an enhanced level of service to readers and gain insight into how the licence is being used. The data and services available on the platform help customers formulate a plan alongside our Customer Success Team, so they can better meet their goals or expected outcomes through using the FT.
Here are the three key challenges we were hearing from administrators, and how Enterprise Tools addresses each:
I want to manage my FT licence – quickly and easily
Receive an instant overview of how many seats on your subscription have been allocated, or are still available. Quickly assign a free seat, remove a reader or reset someone’s password.
"This tool is extremely helpful for managing our account properly. It offers excellent information to take informed decisions and guide users accordingly” - Regulatory Body
I want to set up customised alerts on behalf of individuals and groups
Set up topics tailored to the specific needs of different departments and teams, so you can surface the most relevant content for readers on your licence. This saves them time and keeps them informed. Not sure what topics to set up? Your Customer Success Manager can engage with teams to understand their content requirements and configure alerts accordingly.
"Data available is very useful in order to understand the needs of users and offer a better service internally" - Central Bank
I want to access, monitor and compare usage data
Use reports on how people within your organisation are using FT content to make sure you’re getting the most from your FT licence. Your Customer Success Manager can work alongside you to turn these data insights into a plan to drive greater awareness and adoption of the FT across your reader base.
“The usage statistics are exactly what we were looking for. Every month, I clean up our user list and share reports with management” - Development Bank
How can I start using Enterprise Tools within my organisation?
Traditionally, licence administrators have been the people responsible for adding and removing users from a subscription. Whilst Enterprise Tools requires licence administrator permissions, the platform is useful for a range of roles across an organisation. In addition to the people who manage the licence, you can benefit from Enterprise Tools if you:
- Manage knowledge and/or are responsible for distributing information to individuals, teams and departments
Enterprise Tools helps you select topics pertinent to your organisation and keep relevant people or teams informed. Communications teams, information professionals, researchers, support staff and team managers are just some of the job functions already using this feature. - Budget for your organisation’s FT subscription
With a transparent and immediate view of your subscription usage, you can better understand how the licence is being used and take action to ensure it’s used effectively. CFOs, department heads and procurement managers are some functions in particular that benefit from greater visibility of this information.
If your role matches any of those above and you don’t currently have access to Enterprise Tools, please contact customersuccess@ft.com to enquire about getting set up.
Enterprise Tools, along with added value from our Customer Success team are two examples of what makes a group subscription different than buying the FT as an individual. Read our blog post to find out more about what is included in an FT Group Subscription.
An FT Group Subscription extracts the intelligence that’s relevant to your business and delivers it via the media and technologies that suit you best, saving you time and keeping you informed on what matters.
